My New Role Models
I’ve got some new role models.
On the same day, I met two courageous women.
One of them is traveling in a van across the country all by herself.
“Do you feel safe?” I asked her.
“Yes,” she said, “absolutely.”
Apparently, there’s a network of van-life people.
They look out for each other.
She’s traveling the country and having some amazing adventures.
Alone.
That sounds, on the one hand, terrifying.
And on the other hand, it seems amazing.
I met another woman while standing in line.
We got to chatting.
It’s the first anniversary of her husband’s passing.
She booked a hotel and is spending a few days being a tourist in a new city as a memorial for him.
Alone.
That sounds, on the one hand, terrifying.
And on the other hand, it seems amazing.
“Don’t ever underestimate the impact that you may have on someone else’s life,” is a quote that I have always liked, although I have no idea who said it.
I googled it and came up with so many different answers that I still have no idea who said it.
These courageous women have left a huge impact on me.
They are my new role models.
