I Understand, But It Could Be Acknowledged Better

I Understand

Today is February 29.

Leap day.

Today is also National Rare Disease Day.

I understand why Rare Disease Day might be celebrated on a rare calendar day.

However, as the mother of two Type One Diabetics, I think that rare diseases should be acknowledged every single day of the year until a cure is found.

It’s also National Toast Day.

Is it because you’re toast on Leap Day?

Nah, National Toast Day is the last Thursday in February, so it just happens to be on the 29th this year.

I’ve never met a piece of toast I don’t like.

White, wheat, rye, sourdough, it’s all good.

Jam, butter, cream cheese, they’re all good too.

Today is a good day to eat toast, to leap, and to find a cure for those rare diseases.
