Yay Team – A Trophy Would Be Amazing!

Yay Team!

Yay team!

I’ve got matching bug bites in the exact same place on each foot.

Also on each thigh.

And also on each wrist.

Which leads me to the only logical conclusion.

The mosquitoes have formed a synchronized biting team.

I imagine the bugs in their glittery swim caps.

And the coaches yelling with their over-the-top, Friday-Night-Lights mania.

“All right Pests, on THREE! Jump, twirl, and BITE!”

And Team Pest does it on three because that’s what champions do.

I hope we win the playoffs.

I’ll still itch.

But a trophy might make it all worth it.

It Was Totally Worth It!

It was worth it.

I just read Remarkably Bright Creatures for a book club.

You can’t find it for love or money in any library.

There’s a 12-week wait on Overdrive.

I was tempted to just skip the read this month.

But then I saw it in a bookstore so I picked it up.

And boy, am I glad I did.

I loved this story.

I have just spent the entire morning watching Giant Pacific Octopus clips on YouTube.

No it wasn’t a waste of time.

It was enriching.

And educational.

But now I have a morning’s worth of work to catch up on.

It was totally worth it.

A great book is always worth it.

Everyone is talking about the Marry Me Chicken recipe.

I had to try it.

I went online and found a zillion variations.

Which one is the right one?

I put a lot of thought and effort into picking which recipe to try.

It had to fulfill two requirements:

  1. Use ingredients I already have so I don’t have to go to the store
  2. Use a minimum of dishes so there won’t be much to clean

Yes, I base most of my decisions on laziness.

The Marry Me Chicken turned out good.

But I don’t know if it was worth marriage.

I mean, come on.

Been there, done that.

Both with marriage and with chicken dinners.

We spent the entire meal poking fun of wedded bliss.

And chickens.

I guess that made it worthy after all.
