A Threadbare Pair of Yoga Pants

Threadbare

I knew I shouldn’t have worn those threadbare yoga pants to work.

They split right in the middle of a meeting.

Luckily I was on Zoom.

No one noticed.

After the meeting, I took the Walk of Shame across the house.

I changed into yet another threadbare pair of yoga pants.

I might as well wreck them all during the quarantine.

I’ll save the good yoga pants for the post-quarantine Zoom meetings.

Stockholm Syndrome is Setting In

Stockholm Syndrome

At first, the quarantine was stifling.

I wanted to go out.

I wanted to see people.

But now Stockholm Syndrome is setting in.

I’m starting to get very comfortable with this.

Maybe a little too comfortable.

When the quarantine is lifted, I may refuse to go out.

It might be too peopley out there.

Housekeeping Standards

Mostly True Memoirs

Housekeeping Standards

I had words with the Grown Son about housekeeping standards.

He shared his own wise household hints with me.

Apparently his short stint in a bachelor apartment has made him an expert.

I very politely reminded him that he is in my home.

And we will be keeping house up to my standards.

I may have been slightly more harsh than “very polite.”

We reached an amicable compromise.

We’ll do it my way.

Cheap Gas During the Quarantine

Cheap Gas

I found some cheap gas during the quarantine.

I just filled up my car for $0.72 a gallon.

Seriously.

I didn’t even need gas.

I was at half a tank.

But for that price, I had to top off.

Now if only I had somewhere to go.

I Washed the Kitchen Floor

I washed the kitchen floor

I washed the kitchen floor.

I told the family to stay off of it for half an hour.

You would have thought their world had come to an end.

Keep in mind it was 10:30 in the morning.

And everyone had already eaten breakfast.

Please say a prayer for my family during this very difficult time in their lives.

Losing Track of Days

Losing Track of Days

I’m losing track of days.

And time.

I’ve missed deadlines.

I’ve forgotten about appointments.

Sigh…

Maybe I need one of those color-coded schedules.

Spring in North Texas

Spring in North Texas

The weather is starting to warm up.

It’s not hot enough for the air conditioner yet.

But the house is feeling kind of stuffy.

With the ceiling fan on, it gets too cold.

But with the ceiling fan off, it gets too stifling.

I’m working in my home office on a lovely 73-degree afternoon with the fan on as well as a sweater.

Welcome to spring in North Texas.

It’s National Egg Salad Week

National Egg Salad Week

It is National Egg Salad Week.

I can’t think of a more revolting food to celebrate.

It is also Free Cone Day at Ben and Jerry’s.

But that’s been postponed.

For obvious reasons.

On this day in history, the Titanic hit the infamous iceberg.

And the hits just keep on coming.

Oh, but it’s also National Gardening Day.

And Bob is building me a raised garden bed.

I knew I could find something good about today!

Chocolate Gives Me a Migraine

Migraine

Chocolate gives me a migraine.

It has given me a migraine since I was a little kid.

It’s why I don’t eat chocolate.

Yesterday I ate some chocolate.

Today I feel awful.

Have I learned anything from this episode?

No.

No, I have not.

Quarantined With a Type One Diabetic

Quarantined with a Type One Diabetic

The nice thing about being quarantined with a type one diabetic is that I can’t stress bake.

T1D has saved me from gaining tons of weight during this quarantine.

I’ve been stress reading instead.

Reading is 100% carb-free.

Who knew that type one diabetes could come in so handy?
